The T50 — Capable, Efficient and More Accessible
The T50 is a serious commercial drone. A 40 litre tank, dual atomised spraying, active phased array radar and terrain following up to 50 degrees of slope, it’s not an entry level product in any meaningful sense. It’s a purpose built professional tool that handles the vast majority of agricultural spraying and spreading work in Australia.
Where the T50 earns its keep is in versatility and manageability. It’s lighter and less cumbersome than the T100, which matters more than you’d think when you’re working in hilly country, managing battery cycles across a long day or deploying solo. Battery life goes further relative to payload and the whole operation is easier to manage with a smaller crew.
At $32,000 inc. GST it’s also significantly more accessible than the T100. For farmers bringing drone spraying in-house, or contractors starting out and building a client base, the T50 covers an enormous amount of ground without the capital outlay of the larger machine.
The T50 suits you if:
- You’re farming or contracting on properties up to a few thousand hectares per season
- You’re working in hilly or difficult terrain where a lighter, more nimble drone is an advantage
- You’re starting a contracting operation and want strong capability without overcommitting on capital
- You want a drone that’s manageable with a small crew or solo operation
The T100 — Built For Serious Output
The T100 is a different machine at a different scale. A 100 litre tank, spray width up to 13 metres and coverage rates up to 40 hectares per hour, it’s designed for operators who need maximum output and are prepared to build an operation around it.
The economics of the T100 make sense when you’re covering serious hectares every season. The larger tank means fewer stops, faster turnarounds and more ground covered per day. For commercial contractors taking on large broadacre jobs or farmers managing significant properties, the cost per hectare comes down considerably compared to a smaller machine.
It’s a bigger setup to manage. The T100 is heavier, requires more infrastructure around it and is best suited to a two person operation or a well-organised solo contractor with an efficient rig. But when the conditions and scale are right, nothing in the DJI Agras range covers ground faster.
The T100 suits you if:
- You’re running a commercial contracting operation covering large areas each season
- You’re farming broadacre country where output per day is the priority
- You already have or are investing in a full operational setup including generator and trailer rig
- You’re upgrading from a smaller drone and ready to scale up
What About Running Both?
Some contractors run both. A T100 as the primary production machine for large open country jobs, and a T50 as a secondary drone for smaller paddocks, hilly terrain or situations where the bigger machine is overkill. It’s a setup that makes sense once your operation reaches a certain scale.

Our Honest Recommendation
If you’re unsure, start with the T50. It’s a genuinely capable commercial drone that will handle the vast majority of work you’ll encounter in Australian conditions. The $13,000 difference between the two buys you a lot of flexibility, and you can always scale up once you’ve built your operation and client base.
If you know you’re covering serious hectares from day one, or you’re building a contracting business specifically around large broadacre work, the T100 is the right investment. The output difference justifies the cost at scale.
